  Another Mjuser...
There's a guy called S.Liu on photo.net who does nice work with a Mju. And an XA (a Mju ancestor) and a Rolleiflex as well... While you're there, the Rolleiflex photos are well worth looking at. The Rollei in question is a 1932 vintage. When you get to S. Liu's page, browse down until you find the Mju section. Some of the galleries were taken using Ilford XP2 film, which I've been using recently as well.

Comments:
Hi,
I too own a Stylus Epic and the camera returns excellent prints with XP2. This film often gives underexposed results with many SLR meters and many people advise that the film be rated at 200 or 250 for best exposure.(XP2 in a 400 film only in 35mm;this is a black and white chromogenic film, C41)Contrary to this, the Stylus meter gives perfect result with this film as long as one gives proper attention to the positive idiosyncrasies of the camera; namely, focus lock and spot meter. For black and white shooters that want extremely low grain (to rival 100), I'd also recommend Kodak BW400CN in addition to XP2.

here's to the mju plug... i'm in the army and i brought the mju to camp.... it survived in the tropical jungle and came out great for it and madness in bunk... i have to say it sucks at grp shots(jungle canopy and camo cream throw the meter wayyy off), the viewfinder's markings are annoyingly enagmatic. But it earned a place in my webbing (fits snugly in a magazine pouch) now how to keep it out of sight from officers......

Joe, just thought I'd let you know the link to S.Liu does not work any more. He has his own blog now, at http://sliu.blogspot.com/ though as he uses a range of cameras I've no idea if he still uses his Mju-II/Stylus Epic.
Cheers, Simon Evans. Keep on Mju-ing ;-)

Mjuser Tips

Buy two: they're cheap.
Put 100iso in one and 800/1600iso in the other. Use the first by day and the other by night. It beats compromising on 400iso film everywhere.

Use extreme film.
The Mju can handle anything from 50iso - 3200iso.
Become a night owl.

There's a spotmeter.
Use it.

Switch the flash off.
Flash can turn your subject into a victim.
Sometimes the camera doesn't even need it.
Use fast film instead.

Try black and white.
You can now get b&w film that can be processed in colour labs.

Have it on you.
Keep chanting that one...

Take your time.
The Mju is so good that you can use it like an SLR.
So take your time and compose your shots properly.

It's behind you!
Remember to look behind you as you walk along.
You could be missing a great photo.

RTFM: read the f... ine manual.
There are things you won't find out if you don't.
See spotmeter above.
